Fever Labs is an open source hardware and software design and research firm. Started in 2010 by Jason Thibodeau, Fever Labs began off one idea: the Shutter Shield. Recognizing the popularity the arduino platform has achieved, we hope to continue to bring bright new engineers into the hobbiest community. This starts with introducing users to easy to use hardware and software, like the arduino. However, it goes further than that. Many hobbiests (like Jason) have moved past the basics, and we must help them to continue to grow.
Here at Fever Labs, you will find us supporting other types of programmable devices. From our FPGArduino board, to the 9S12duino, or the Leaf Labs Maple, we want users to understand: there is more to hobbiest electronics than the arduino bootloader-supported Atmel lineup. By designing boards that work with the populare arduino footprint, we can help users transition to new devices, with minimal investment, and still retain all the shields they know and love.
But there is more to it than that. What do we do with these devices once we learn how to use them? Fever Labs also produces some fantastic robotics, physical computing, and interface products, designed to put your knowledge to good use. Check out our Social Shield, and Shutter Shield for examples.
Fever Labs is committed to being ‘open source’. We publish our schematics, pcb design files, and firmware source for you to modify. We only ask that you give us proper attribution.
